The Block Gives Back participated in Saturday’s Love Your Park Day, sprucing up Moss Playground, 5700 Torresdale Ave. in Wissinoming. The group and some young volunteers filled five bags of trash, painted six benches in the play area, painted the basketball backboards and put new nets on the rims.

Four Sons Pizza, 3145 Kensington Ave., rewarded the workers with six extra-large pizzas. The Block also cleaned Moss in September. Up next, the Block will serve pasta and salad at Prevention Point, 2913 Kensington Ave., on Nov. 24. Then, the group will distribute gift bags and food to homeless at 16th Street and JFK Boulevard on Dec. 22. ••
